Bio

Wasted Wine are a ramshackle two-man orchestra of bizarre sounds and baffling lyrics. Based in South Carolina, the band consists of multi-instrumentalists / co-lead vocalists Robert Gowan and Adam Murphy, augmented by various local musicians (often Robert "Buck Dollars" Buckingham and Lou Buckingham of Greenville folk duo Little Soul) and, sometimes, bellydancers. Their music is weird, dark, sad, funny, theatrical, and self-recorded, employing countless "exotic" instruments.

Live Shows

Wasted Wine has performed in variety of venues in the Southeast, including Coffee Underground, the Handlebar, the Evening Muse, and Bobo's Gallery. They have been finalists in open mic competitions at Eddie's Attic (Decatur, GA) and The Evening Muse (Charlotte, NC). In addition to regular concerts, they have worked with artists, animators, and bellydancers, and have done benefits for causes such as No More Victims. Their music has been featured on Greenville's "The Intersection" radio show and WNCW's Tower of Song series.

Quotes

"[D]isarmingly distinct and utterly genre defying... the lovechild of Tom Waits and the Decemberists."
Kym ReVille, Columbia City Paper

"When it comes to pure musical talent, these guys definitely don’t run short... Even with their musical prowess, Wasted Wine still provides a stripped down, almost back porch sound with a bit of a dark twist."
Cody Fields, Greenville Scene
